this is what happened:

pinestar became a kittypet and mated with quince AND firestar's mother, so firestar and scourge are half brothers. pinestar's coloring was almsot identical to firestars. it says so in bluestars prophacy, if u had paid atenyion.

No, actually Pinestar is RED-BROWN, and also he was way old when he left; i dobut he would have taken a mate.

It makes more sense for Jake to be his father.

their father was not pinestar because the father has to be orange it says so in the rise of scourge the mom(quince)was like"its a shame none of your kits inherited your fiery pelt"so yeah

Pinestar was DEAD before Firestar was even born! When Bluestar got her nine lives, he gave her one of them! And that was WAY before Firestar was born!

I hate how commonly disputed this is. There is indeed some proof that backs both Jake and Pinestar up, so I go with neither. There is no definite evidence where it's said that either is Firestar's dad. However, keep in mind that there could be dozens of un-named fire-furred cats. =S

Actually Jake IS Firestar and Scourges father.

Okay, lets look at both sides of this argument.

PINESTAR: He is a red-brown tom, sort of bracken colored. He left the clans to become a kittypet. He was pretty old.

JAKE: He was ginger. He used to venture into the forest.

Personally, I`m on Jake, because the evidence I see is

* Jake was seen with a plump gray she cat . . . Quince?

* Jake was ginger like Firestar. When Quince looks at the picture she points out 'ginger pelt'. Pinestar is bracken colored rather than ginger.

* Quince also said something about how Scourge`s father went into the forest a few times. Pinestar may have not told her he used to live there, but I think he did. Jake must`ve crossed the clan cats` paths a few times.

But then, I see some evidence that supports Pinestar

* If his kits with Quince did not represent him, maybe his kits with Firestar`s mother didn`t resemble him. Princess is brown with white paws and chest. Firestar is ginger. Maybe the reddish brown trait was split between the kits.

So I`m very neutral. There is no need to bring this to a violent argument.
