well, maybe in one part i read recently, sandstorm said she wanted more to drink, but firestar says havent you had enough to drink, so maybe!

How long were thay back at camp for before she had the kits?

I know. I was sure that sandstorm and firestar were mates, but it never said anything about her expecting kits. And in the epilogue, i thought that Brightheart was the one having the kits until the last few sentences when he says that his daughters were beautiful or something like that
