I thought the saddest part in THE QUEST BEGINS was when Nisa was slowly dragged under the navy blue sea...with a killerwhale doign it....but the abandon by Oka against Toklo was REALLY sad too...but not as much as the death of kalliks moma!!
Gosh I don't know. Kallik's mom's death was really descriptive and I almost cried.. but what really got me was when Kallik found the other bear... and then she died.. :/ That really got me teared up.

I think it was when Lusa left the bear bowl. That was really sad to me. Because, she had to choose to leave and unlike the other parts you mentioned the main charaters just had it happen to them.
School starts for me on the 1st, so I will get on only a few minutes a day! ∞૯қՐค∞ Books are the best thing invented!!! I also love school
